I Can Do It AGAIN!!!
ok, this has been a hard decision, and i know that i really don't want to make it but i really think that this year the forces of nature are really guiding me not to do this triathlon. i have been having soo many problems with my hip, knee and ankle, so i am going to listen to my body and throw in the towel. thank you for your continued support and know that ultimately this is the right decision for my body ( i have to remain in the best shape to run after lil man and can't risk injury, which is where i'm heading ) hope everyone is well and know that you are all on my mind!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Last year I tried to convince you that I was not insane when I told you that I was doing the Ford Triathlon in NYC. I don't think I can convince you again, so I won't, because I have decided to DO IT AGAIN!!! I can't explain how gratifying it was to cross the finish line with my son knowing that my hard work and your support would benefit others in so many ways. On July 10, 2005, I will swim .9 miles (in the Hudson River! It's really not that bad!), cycle 25 miles and run 6.2 miles to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The next few months will be a challenge for my family and I. As a result of this commitment, I ask for your help and generosity. Last year, I was able to raise my goal of $2,300.00 and I have pledged to raise another $2,300. My goal is to raise $575.00 by April 26, 2005 and the full $2,300 by June 7, 2005. Please support me on my mission to make a difference; no donation is too small (or too big). As a participant with Team In Training (TNT) I have joined a group of more than 35,000 athletes nationwide that are teaming up this year to help raise money in the fight against blood cancers. Since its origination in 1988, TNT has raised over $500 million that helps support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's six major programs: research, patient services, public and professional education, advocacy and community service. Thirty years ago, there was no effective treatment for leukemia. Thanks to research funded in part by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the survival rate for the most common form of childhood leukemia has improved from 4% in 1960 to 85% in 1999. Over 106,000 people in the United States will be diagnosed with a blood cancer in 2005-an estimated 58,300 will die. Although the cause of these cancers remains unknown, steady advances in research and treatment are bringing us closer to cures. I know that each mile will symbolize another step on the road to a cure for Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Myeloma. With your help we will raise the money needed to find a cure for these diseases. Thank you for your moral, emotional and monetary support! Thanks for visiting my website. Be sure to forward this link to your friends, family and co-workers.
